Founder- The founder of Judaism is Abraham. He founded the religon in 2000 B.C.
Religious leaders- The religious leader is a Rabbi, not a priest. Priest are charged to do special ceremonys in the Temple.
Place of worship- The place of worship in Judaism is a synagogue.
Where it began- Judaism began in Israel. Today it is practiced in the Middle East.
Main Beliefs- There is one god. All people are equal and you must follow God's laws.(10 commandments)
God- There is only one god. This God is all powerful, all knowing, and in all places at all times. He is a just and merciful God.
Sacred writings- The sacred writing of the Jewish religion is the Torah. The Torah is teaching God's revealed instructions to the Jewish people how to act, think, and feel about life and death.
Religious practices- Jews must pray 5 times a day. They pray and worship God often.
Religious festivals- Passover is 8 days long and it is when the Israelites left Egypt. Rosh Hashanah is Jewish New Year, it lasts 10 days. Sukkot- Is after the Israelites left Egypt they spent 40 days in the wilderness. Hanukkah- 25th night of Kislev, it lasts 8 days and it was the persacution in the Holy land.
Symbol- The symbol of Judaism is the Star of David. The Star of David represents King David. The 6 points symbolize God's rule over the universe in all 6 directions.(North, South, East, west, Up, and Down)
